Am HaZikaron’s “My Jewish Roots” event is perhaps the most effective introduction to personal family history and how it is woven into the history of the Jewish people. The seminar has been held for about 15 years, and about 60 thousand Jews have already participated in it.
Each year the event receives many sincere and enthusiastic responses from participants. It brings together people of all ages from all over Israel. The participants’ discoveries often begin their journey toward a stronger Jewish identity. They serve as a starting point for exploring family history that has been erased from the memory of the Soviet Jews.
