“Am haZikaron (עם הזיכרון – People of Memory in Hebrew) is an Israeli research institute that conducts research and educational activities in the field of Jewish family history. Am haZikaron is a non-profit organization founded in Tel Aviv in 1998.

One of the main objectives of the Institute is to develop national consciousness and reconnect modern Jews with the heritage and history of the Jewish clans of which they are descendants.

“Am haZikaron” develops and implements educational programs for youth, conducts in-depth research on Jewish family history, and advances academic studies in this field. The Institute promotes aliyah to Israel, helps find documents for repatriation, and tells new repatriates about their Jewish roots.

The Institute’s activities are financed with the assistance of foundations that award grants for specific projects, as well as from voluntary donations. Its research is endorsed by a Committee of 55 Nobel laureates. “Am haZikaron” partners with leading governmental and private organizations.
