The Metaklans theory is the result of an extensive, 10-year, empirical study of the lives of Jewish clans. The study examined factual material on the history of 63 different Jewish clans ranging up to 950 years.
As a result of the research, it has been scientifically proved for the first time that there are special internal regularities in the life of the Jewish people that ensure their survival throughout the millennia. The regularities are expressed in the preservation of dominant features in Jewish clans, such as occupations, destinies, social behavior, characters, habits, choice of partners, etc. In spite of the great length of temporal existence of clans; in spite of geographical separation of family branches (i.e. their isolated residence for at least 100-150 years not only in different countries, but also on different continents without any connection between them); in spite of kinship separation between members of a clan in 10, 25, 38 generations and complete absence of any information about other members of a family – the majority of members of a clan have identical personal characteristics. These kin members with the same characteristics form the so-called “metaclan”.
The theory of metaklans asserts that the above patterns result in the preservation of the character of the Jewish people throughout its history. The existence of these patterns implies that each Jewish family, like the entire Jewish people, has a unique vocation.
The perspective presented above breaks new ground in understanding the mechanisms underlying the unique history of the Jewish people. The study is an attempt to decipher the message encoded in the very existence of the Jewish people.
Following the publication of the study, the authors were awarded the Zeiti Yerushalayim Prize for their contribution to national heritage and its development.
