The Am haZikaron Institute, with support from the Fooksman Family Foundation, Jewish Humanitarian Fund and Genesis Philanthropy Group, has created a unique online educational project that brings together high school students from around the world.
For many schoolchildren it is the first contact with Jewish history, culture and tradition. The effectiveness of immersion in the national atmosphere is achieved by studying the history of the people through personal history: each participant gets knowledge about his/her family, learns to create a family tree, search for relatives in the past and present.
Students get to know each other, work together, and debate on topics ranging from politics to music. The program develops communication skills, broadens the outlook and strengthens national identity, and stimulates the search for answers to key questions in Jewish history.
